Free WiFi for loyal Starbucks fans
Coffee shop giant Starbucks has announced recently that it is bringing in a new scheme that will allow its most loyal fans to enjoy the benefits of free WiFi in its coffee shops.
Many of the people that visit Starbucks coffee shops become loyal fans, visiting their local coffee shop as well as other Starbucks shops in other parts of the country on a regular basis. Starbucks has recently announced that it will be rewarding these most loyal customers with access to free WiFi in hundreds of its coffee shops.
For access to this free WiFi service customer just have to sign up to the Starbucks loyalty card scheme, and they will be able to enjoy free WiFi broadband access in around six hundred and fifty Starbucks coffee shops throughout both the UK and Ireland.
For customers that have inclusive WiFi minutes as part of their BT home or business broadband package the service is already available and therefore they do not have to sign up to the loyalty card scheme. The measure will mean, however, that Starbucks could see its customer base grow due to the availability of free WiFi access at so many of its coffee shops and BT Openzone will see an increase in the number of wireless broadband hotspots that it operated.
One official from BT Openzone said: ‘Use of our Wi-Fi doubled last year and coffee shops are increasingly popular as a third place to work or log on to the internet. We’re constantly looking to boost the choice of places to connect – where people want it. The location of Starbucks stores in the high street and travel hubs is helping to extend the reach of Wi-Fi to customers.’
