Favourite innovation of UK consumers is broadband
A recent survey has shown that the favourite innovation amongst consumers in the UK is broadband, which has revolutionized the lives of many people.

A survey has been carried out recently looking into the most and least favourite innovations amongst consumers in the UK. The results of the survey have revealed that the innovation that has topped the list in terms of popularity is, perhaps not surprisingly, broadband. This technology has become a part of everyday life for many people, and there are households and businesses all around the country that would be completely lost without their broadband access.
The survey involved polling over two thousand consumers, and the majority said that broadband was definitely the best innovation over the past ten years whilst the two worse ones were named as social networking and reality television. Consumers are said to have been highly impressed by broadband because of its ability to save them time and its functionality. However, they were resentful about time that was wasted on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Around sixty six percent of respondents said that usefulness was the main benefit, and fifty five percent said that it was the ability to save time. Only forty percent said that cost savings were the major benefit and twenty eight percent said that it was down to cutting edge technology.
One official said: “It’s a reminder of how useful broadband has become for most people in the UK. It allows us to do lots of things more quickly, more effectively and with a lot less effort, from shopping to dating to finding out stuff. Perhaps this explains why 71% of UK households have broadband despite it being an extra cost that no one had to pay before it existed.”
