According to a recent report an increasing number of Brits are now looking for access to the internet around the clock, whenever they want and wherever they are, without the hassle of needing to be in a fixed location.

When broadband was first introduced into the mainstream market consumers were delighted to be able to get online and enjoy impressive speeds and constant access from a fixed location, without the hassle and time consumption involved in dial up. However, as technology in the broadband industry has evolved, so have the needs of consumers, and according to a recent report many Brits are no longer satisfied with being able to get easy and cheap broadband access from a fixed location.

In fact, industry experts have recently said that British consumers’ demands with regards to broadband access have been increasing, and with many no longer satisfied with having access to broadband from a fixed location such as the home or office more and more consumers are looking to get online no matter where they are.

Officials from PriceWaterhouseCoopers recently carried out a survey, and predicted that within the next four years or so broadband penetration in the UK was likely to increase by nearly forty percent. They added that part of the reason for this was that more and more discerning and demanding Brits were looking for constant and mobile access to the Internet without being tied to a particular location.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers also said that these demands had resulted in sales growth of devices such as Smartphones, which gave consumers what they were looking for when it comes to Internet access. One official said: “Growth in mobile access is allowing consumers to access the internet from any location and is giving rise to popularity of high-end devices such as smartphones.”
