Computers and broadband launched for older users
A well known television presenter is involved in the launch of computers and broadband packages for older users in the UK, which is part of a joint venture.
Whilst many of us take our computer knowledge and broadband services for granted these days there are many users, including older consumers, that do not have the knowledge or experience to use computers or broadband services effectively. One well known television presenter is now getting involved in the launch of a range of simple to use computers and affordable broadband packages that are aimed at older users in the UK.
The launch of the computers is part of a joint venture between Wessex Computers and discountage.co.uk, which was founded by the television presenter Valerie Singleton. The series of computers that is being launched is called SimplicITy, and those involved hope that older users will find the systems both affordable and simple to use, enabling them to enjoy the benefits of the digital age without feel intimidated by the technology.
A number of broadband packages to suit the needs and pockets of older users are also being promoted for use with the SimplicITy range, and these are broadband packages from Eclipse. The computer come with a very simple version of Linux called Eldy, and consumers will also be able to view demonstrations given by Singleton with regards to the functioning of the system.
The systems themselves will cost between three hundred and four hundred pounds depending on the model chosen, and users will find that they offer a simple and affordable solution to help them to embrace the digital age.
