The effect that the deployment of fibre optic cabling will have on both customers and businesses in the UK will be a dramatic one according to the competitions partner at the telecommunications regulator Ofcom, Stuart McIntosh.

Many companies around the UK are currently offering faster and faster broadband connection speeds to both their home and business customers with Virgin Media currently holding the title of fastest commercial broadband connection in the UK.
