Businesses express concern about broadband capacity

The results of a recent survey have indicated that a growing number of businesses in the UK are now concerned about the broadband network in the UK reaching capacity.
According to the results of a recent survey a growing number of businesses across the UK are becoming more and more concerned about the broadband network in the UK reaching capacity. The study was carried out by the hotel and hospitality group iBAHN, which said that the concern levels amongst business with regards to network capacity were growing.
The survey was called the ’10 Years of Broadband Survey’, and the results of the survey showed that although many UK businesses were keen to see improvements made to the broadband network to make it stronger and more efficient around seventy two percent were concerned or ‘very concerned’ that broadband in the UK was reaching capacity.
The survey also showed that whilst businesses were aware that many changes needed to be made to the broadband infrastructure in the UK to ensure that broadband networks were more effective and able to cope with increased traffic nearly sixty percent of them were against the broadband tax that had been proposed by the Labour government, which has now been scrapped in the run up to the general election.
An official from iBAHN said: “The findings of the 10yearsofBroadband survey show that the broadband community demands a strong, secure broadband network for the UK. It’s refreshing to see some political debate focused on the UK’s digital economy, but a lack of real consultation during the development of plans, such as the Digital Economy bill, has cause a negative reaction, and this survey underlines that it is an essential issue that needs to be address fully to answer the concerns of businesses and consumers in the UK.”
