Business travellers want free WiFi in hotels
According to a recent report business travellers from the UK that stay in hotels are keen to have free WiFi internet access at the hotel they stay in even if they can claim back the cost of access from their employer.

For many UK business travellers having access to broadband and internet services at hotels that they stay in is vital, as it enables them to carry out their necessary work whilst at the hotel. However, whilst some hotels offer free internet access for travellers there are also many others that offer either no access at all or charge quite hefty fees for internet access.
It has been revealed in a recent report that many travellers that are staying in hotels for business purposes are keen to have free internet access even though most would be able to claim back the cost of using the internet from their employer in the event that they were charged for this access. The report suggests that the availability of free WiFi at a hotel can determine whether many business travellers actually stay at a particular hotel or decide to go elsewhere.
In the past having free WiFi access at a hotel was considered something of a luxury by both business and leisure travellers. However, with the Internet now playing such a big part in the lives of both business and leisure travellers many now believe that they have a right to free internet access rather than treating it as a luxury, and many will book their hotel based on whether this access is provided.
One business traveller said: “I always call up any hotels I am considering booking to find out whether they offer free broadband and internet access, and to me this means being able to get access in my room and not just in public areas around the hotel. If there is no access or no free access then I will look elsewhere for a hotel. In this day and age free internet access should be provided as a matter of course.”
