Business group wants UK to have fastest broadband by 2030
A leading business group has recently stated that the government has to take action to ensure that the UK has the quickest broadband in Europe by 2030.

The speed of our broadband services and connections is something that has become extremely important to many people, and this is particularly true for businesses who need to have high speed broadband access in order to improve their productivity, boost business, and improve efficiency. A leading business group has now stated that the government needs to take measures to ensure that the UK has the quickest broadband in Europe by 2030.
The government is already hoping to give Britain the title of having the best broadband network by 2015, but many believe that they will be unable to achieve this goal. A recent league table of the top one hundred locations when it came to global broadband speeds found that only one UK city made it onto the list, which was Bradford, and even then it only came in at position 99.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has now stated that the government needs to promote the UK to potential investors in order to gain all important funding for the country and to secure more jobs. The CBI said that doing this would help to put the UK back on the road to recovery after a very difficult few years and would make the UK more appealing for investors.
One CBI official said: “In 20 years time, we want the UK to have the most competitive tax regime in the OECD be a world leader in low-carbon technologies, boast a strong education and skills base, fit for purpose infrastructure and the fastest broadband in Europe.”
