BT Super-speed Fiber Optic Broadband at Hemsworth and South Elmsall
BT’ super-fast fiber optic broadband will turn from wishes into reality for Hemsworth and South Elmsall as they become the first cities to get the service. The complete implementation of the project is expected by the end of next year.

The project is estimated to be completed at a cost of £2.5 billion, and the cities and surrounding areas will be able to download data at a speed of over 80 mega bytes per second (Mbps). At street cabinets, the speed might go above 300 Mbps.
This installation will be well-received when you realize the fact that the average speed of British download is just 6.8 Mbps. The company is currently using copper cables for the delivery of digital data, which will shortly be replaced by fiber optic cables.
The fiber optic cables can carry information for much longer distances, without compromising on efficiency.
According to Ben Brooks, General Manager of LS Live on Langthwaite Business Park, South Kirkby, super fast technology would create huge difference to their company and will get customers attracted to them.
The fiber optic broadband will be delivered to customers by Openreach, BT’s local network business. The plan will help the people in the area to improve their quality of life. It will help to widen their horizon and to get information quicker.
And for the businesses, the new technology will help attain big business speeds which would boost competition and eventually rake in the profits.
