Broadband in rural areas will take time to implement
An industry officials has stated that rolling out high speed broadband in hard to reach rural areas is something that is going to take some time to implement.

There will be many residents and businesses in rural parts of the UK that will be looking forward to receiving access to high speed broadband as part of the government broadband rollout. Having access to higher speed broadband can bring with it many benefits for both business users and casual ones, but so far it has been difficult for people in more rural areas to access this technology.
The government plans to ensure that the UK has the best broadband network in Europe by 2015, which is now only four years away. However, one official has said that the rollout of the technology is likely to be a complicated process and will take some time to implement. This comes from Antony Walker, chief executive of the Broadband Stakeholder Group.
He said that the issues relating to the rollout of broadband in rural areas was being taken very seriously, adding that there was a lot that had to be learnt before the rollout. He said that it was important to take things slowly so that there were no mistakes and minimal problems.
Walker stated: “There’s a lot of work going on, but it’s complicated and there’s a lot to learn still about what the best and most effective approaches will be.. It’s important to recognise that nobody’s really done this before in terms of building out next-generation networks into challenging rural locations and therefore it takes time to work out how to get it right.”
