A recent survey has shown that in general consumers can save money on broadband only deals compared to just broadband on its own
In the past many people have switched from taking out just broadband alone with a particular provider to taking out bundle packages, which may include a telephone line and television service as well as broadband, in the hope that this would save them money. Many Internet Service Providers have started offering very competitive deals on bundle packages, which has resulted in an increase in the number of consumers that take these packages out.
According to the results of a recent survey bundle packages do work out cheaper than broadband alone in most cases, and this is because the providers make more profit from the consumer due to revenue generated from the additional services, and are therefore able to offer the bundle at a more competitive prices than broadband alone.
However, consumers are still advised to shop around and check the cost of bundle deals with a range of providers before making any commitment, otherwise they can find themselves tied in to a contract for twelve months or longer, making it difficult to switch if something better comes along.
As part of the survey the prices of a number of providers were compared, looking at the cost of broadband alone compared to broadband as part of a bundle deal, and in most cases it worked out cheaper for the consumers to opt for a bundle deal over broadband only. The number of people opting for bundle deals in the UK over recent months has increased as a result of the competitive deals that many consumers have been offering in this increasingly competitive market.
