Broadband allows more people to move abroad
Recent figures have shown that the age of Brits who are moving abroad to live is falling, and many of those moving are only able to do so because broadband technology allows them to continue their work.
In the past the image that most people had of Brits that were moving abroad was retirees who no longer had to worry about work and could relax and spend their golden years of retirements in a sunnier or more laid back destination. Many of those that moved abroad were aged over fifty five, and no longer had the burden of work to keep them from living in a new country.
However, according to a recent report this is all changing, and far more younger people are now heading to places such as France and Spain to live with their families. The report shows that having access to broadband has enabled many younger people to head to pastures new, as they are able to continue working because they have broadband services to rely on.
Broadband has given people far more freedom with regards to how they work and where they live, and those that simply want a change of scenery or a better quality of life are able to move to another destination and continue their work thanks to broadband availability. The increase in broadband availability across France is said to have attracted a whole new generation of ex-pats who are keen to enjoy the pace of life there yet continue with their line of work.
One official said that many professional people had been able to move to France without affecting their careers. He said: “Quite a few of the younger families have a fairly white-collar, professional IT background. This makes it possible for them to provide for their children and offer a more simple and healthier existence.”
