Broadband access could result in increase in online Christmas shopping
A recent report has suggested that increased access and speeds when it comes to broadband connections could result in an increase in online shopping this Christmas.
As a nation Britain is very fond of its plastic in terms of credit and debit cards, and equally fond of being able to access the Internet quickly and easily, and it looks as though many Brits will be combining the two this coming Christmas, according to a recent report.
A study carried out by IMRG indicates that the rising number of people with access to broadband and the increased broadband speeds that many now have access to will result in a higher number of people doing their Christmas shopping online this year, with the report claiming that around seventy seven percent of consumers will do at least some of their Christmas shopping online.
These days consumers can purchase pretty much anything online, from their food and drinks for the festive season to gift, clothes for Christmas occasions, and more. Also, quite often consumers are able to get better deals online than they would get on the High Street, which means that many will be hoping to save themselves money as well as saving themselves the hassle and irritation of having to battle with the Christmas crowds in the shops.
The survey showed that speaking from past experience eighty percent of consumers were happy with the service they receive when shopping online, which further fuels expectations of a rise in online Christmas shoppers. One industry expert said: “The online route really drives consumer choice, which is great for those of us trying to maintain a champagne taste on a beer budget.”
