Brits spend half of time using media and communications
A recent report has suggested that Brits are now spending half of their waking time using media and communications such as broadband services and mobile phones.
Over the years people in Britain and around the world have become increasingly reliant of various communications and media tools, and this is something that has become evident in the amount of time that the average Brit now spends using these types of tools.
According to a recent report Brits are spending more and more time using various media and communication tools. The report has been released by the UK’s communications regulator Ofcom, and claims that the average Brit now spends almost half of their waking life using media and communication tools such as broadband services and mobile phones.
The Ofcom report claims that on average Brits are spending around seven hours a day going online, using their mobile phones, and watching television. However, many Brits are also multi-tasking and are therefore able to get in as many as nine hours a day using these tools, devices, and services.
According to the Ofcom report the average person spends just under sixteen hours a day awake, and out of that time spends around seven hours and five minutes is spent “engaging in media and communications activities”. Referring to consumers’ ability to multi-task James Thickett, director of market research and market intelligence at Ofcom, said: “They are taking up more and more communications activities but fitting them into the same amount of time.”
