Brits have less interest in tablets

It has been claimed that despite the growing global popularity of the various tablets that are coming onto the market Brits do not have as strong an interest in them as their European counterparts.

Over recent months there has been increased global interest in the various internet enabled tablets that have been brought out by the various providers, such as the Apple iPad. With mobile broadband and Internet services being in such high demand the popularity of these devices was practically guaranteed and they have, indeed, proven popular in many areas.

However, according to one recent report Brits are not as keen on these tablets as their European counterparts. Figures have shown that the demand for tablets such as the Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Motorola Xoom is not as high in the UK as it is in other European countries, although there is still some level of interest with around one in six still expressing interest in these devices.

The research showed that consumer appetite for these tablets was still very low in the UK compared to many other parts of Europe. The survey was carried out by TNS and covered thirty four thousand people across forty three countries.

It was found that Britain was the highest ranked Western country when it came to using social networking sites like Facebook on their mobile phones. However, only seventeen percent of respondents in the UK said that they would consider buying a tablet to get online whilst on the move.
