It is a well known fact that broadband users have the advantage of access to some great value goods and services when using the Internet, but are most online shoppers getting the best deal?

It is a well known fact that one of the great benefits of having broadband access is having access to a myriad of worldwide websites where you can buy all sorts of goods and services at really low prices, which means that potentially broadband users can save a fortune on the items that they purchase simply by using the Internet and shopping around.

However, a recent report has suggested that not all broadband users may be taking advantage of the ability to make huge savings, with some losing a lot of money on purchases simply by failing to take the time to compare prices and look at a number of options.

The report claims that collectively users could be wasting as much as three hundred million pounds a year because they fail to shop around and simply accept the first price that they are given. Nearly seventy percent of online shoppers admitted to making a purchase at the first price they saw without taking the time to check and compare to see if they could get it cheaper.

One industry official said: ‘Shoppers can pick up some real bargains online, but just logging on doesn’t guarantee you the best price – you still have to shop around. On the web as much as the High Street there are clear differences in the prices on offer. As a result, those who buy online without doing their homework first are paying an average £10 per item more – this soon adds up.’
