Another call for consumers to consider switching broadband
Despite a range of reports that have highlighted the benefits of switching broadband providers, many UK consumers are still failing to do this, and one industry official has issued another reminder highlighting how beneficial switching could be for some users.
It has been highlighted in a number of recent reports that despite the savings that many consumers could make many are failing to switch their broadband provider, which could be costing them dearly. One industry expert has now once again called on consumers to consider switching broadband providers if they want better service or more affordable broadband bills.
The industry expert said that many consumers were stuck on ‘legacy tariffs’ and by failing to switch they were potentially missing out on big savings and could be receiving inferior service from their provider. He said that broadband services had been improved and prices had been lowered over recent years, but many users were still stuck with outdated broadband services at unnecessarily high prices.
Some consumers could be paying a third more than they need to, with broadband prices found to have dropped by around thirty four percent over the past three years. The industry expert stated: “Broadband customers stuck on these ‘legacy tariffs’ are really losing out as the price of broadband has fallen while the quality of service has improved over the last three years.”
“I strongly urge anyone who hasn’t switched in a long time to use an Ofcom-accredited comparison service and check what is available to them in their area. Even if they are satisfied with their current provider they should ask to be placed on an updated package as the benefits to their service and bank balance will be immediate.”
