Abroadband offers affordable PAYG data roaming
Many people that enjoy travelling abroad with their internet enabled devices will be delighted to hear that they can get low cost PAYG data roaming through abroadband.

There are many people who travel abroad on a regular basis and want to take their internet enabled devices along with them for entertainment, communication, research, and even to do some work. However, the cost of data roaming through many network operators can be very expensive and has resulted in bill shock for many travellers who have failed to realise just how much they have used and how much they have been charged.
There is some good news for those that want to be able to get online whilst abroad without having to pay the earth. Telecom Austria has launched abroadband, which uses its existing international roaming agreements in order to offer affordable Pay as you Go data roaming in more than fifty countries, including the United States of America.
The cost of data roaming with this service will cost just €0.59 per megabyte, which makes internet usage whilst abroad far more affordable for travelers and will offer greater peace of mind. In order to use the service you can choose from a SIM card priced at 19.90 euros, a Micro SIM card also priced at 19.90 euros, or a USB modem and SIM card priced at 49.90 euros.
There are many benefits that come from using the service, including the affordable price, the ability to pay for only what you use, the fact that there is no contract to worry about, and even a fourteen day money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

I used another solution: http://www.europasim.com
They use the Vodafone network and it works only in 33 EU countries (less than abroadband), but it costs 6 € a day with 150 MB included. This means more or less 4 cent/MB, which is 12 times cheaper than abroadband. 150 MB are enough to work one day (I seldom use more than 100 MB – no Youtube :-) The interesting feature is that in Italy you pay 2 € per day with 500 MB (same setup) and since it is prepaid, there is no risk of high bills. I just recharge in advance, set the threshold in my connection software and know exactly how much I am going to spend.
My experience with Abroadband = frustration. I registered as a business user but was disconnected after a week as their system failed to validate the EU VAT number of my business. It turned out that they have some fault in their system but even though I could prove the VAT number was valid they were not allowed to let me stay as a user. What’s worse, once registered as a business user it is impossible to switch to a private user – you have to send the gadget back and wait for a new one. I bought this specifically for use during my holidays and it was not possible to send the old one back and wait for the new one as it would have arrived after my holidays. Dealing with Abroadband call centre was very frustrating as nobody could make any decisions and they refused to pass the call to someone who could (sorry, there is no-one here). After a lot of correspondence Abroadband finally agreed to refund the money – that was in July and I am still waiting for this (as of 13th September). Mr. Goran Zupanic of Abroadband who promised the refund stopped answering my emails after a while.
Also it is very expensive – they charged me €5 for 15 minutes of news browsing on internet. Don’t buy Abroadband!
I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed with this company. I purchased a dongle for my parents in Spain after seeing the adverts for 59 cents per min. My parents used it today for the first time and spent approx 5 mins checking emails and then made a 4 min skype call. During the skype call it came up with a warning that they had gone over 50 EUROS – Yep their first bill for a total of 9 mins is 56 Euros! Unbelievable – I can not find anhthing to suggest that they would be charged this amount of money. If something sounds too good to be true then it most probably is. BE WARNED.
The price is actually 59 cents per megabyte of data. If emails contain large attachments then you can very quickly hit the 50 Euro cap. Also Skype uses about 0.4 to 0.7 megabyte per minute.
