24Mbps broadband deals focusing on business offered by ISPs
Following the unveiling of new 24Mbps broadband packages focused on businesses by the internet service providers Star and Heart Telecom, several new broadband options have new been given to UK enterprises.
The package from Star is an ADSL2+ broadband service that has no limit to downloads, although it does have a fair usage policy. There is no set-up fee and subscription costs from £39.99 a month, and up to 16 static IP addresses, round-the-clock support and management has been promises by Star.
The head of convergence and network strategy at Star, Hugo Harber said “Whilst there are other providers offering a range of high speed broadband services, Star’s is the first which is dedicated to UK businesses. It’s an important distinction which means that the customer not only gets access to the fast speeds available over the network, but has the reassurance of support from a team who understand their specific business requirements and can respond quickly whenever they are needed.”
The service will be launched in stages throughout the country on BT’s next-generation network by Star, although by next month about 40 percent of the country should be able to access the service.
Meanwhile, the new package from Heart Telecom is geared mainly towards small businesses and home offices and costs start from £26.48 per month. As well as offering unlimited downloads the service also offers a fixed IP address, up to 1Mbps upload speed and unlimited web space. Analogue line rental and call packages are also included in the package.
The managing director of Heart Telecom, Stephen Halstead said “With the current credit crunch affecting every industry, businesses should be looking to get better deals from their suppliers. Our broadband service addresses that gap with speeds of up to 24Mbit/s, unlimited download options and fixed static IP addresses.”
The actual speeds that these packages offer can vary depending on the quality of the line and the distance from the exchange and both companies have stress that the 24Mbps speed is the maximum that can be theoretically achieved.
