A study that has been carried out recently by Internet service provider BE Broadband has revealed that many firms in the UK are not happy with their broadband service.

BE Broadband has recently carried out a survey relating to business customer satisfaction with broadband providers. The company claims that the results of its study indicate that many businesses in the UK are not happy with the broadband service that they are receiving. In fact, according to BE Broadband the majority of firms are not satisfied with the internet connection.

BE Wholesale, which is a new subsidiary of BE Broadband, carried out the survey. The result showed that two thirds of businesses that were polled thought that slow web browsing speeds were holding back the economy in the UK. The results of the survey also showed that around sixty percent of businesses did not feel as though they were receiving the broadband speed that they were paying for from their Internet service provider.

Nearly forty percent of businesses that were polled as part of the survey said that they did not think that their internet connection would be able to support high definition video conferencing and other applications such as Voice over Internet Protocol. A senior official from BE Wholesale said that the results showed that there was a need for a ‘mindset change’ amongst Internet providers.

Dan Cunliffe, the Head of BE Wholesale, said: “All too often providers concentrate on the pipe, rather than what it’s there to do – which is helping businesses adopt and use tools that allow them to be more productive.”
