Increased connection control for Be Broadband customers
Customers of Be Broadband are to be provided with controls that will allow them to set their Internet connection to suit their needs.
According to a recent report the Internet Service Provider Be Broadband is providing its customers with greater control when it comes to their broadband connection. Officials from the ISP have said that customers will be given the ability to control their Internet connection to suit the activities that they are engaging in online.
Users will be able to change the setting on their Internet connection so that they get optimum service based on what they are doing online. Four different settings have been introduced by Be Broadband to cater for different needs and online activities. These settings will affect the db noise margins and interleave settings.
The standard setting from Be Broadband will be for everyday broadband use, and has a 6db noise margin. The next setting is optimised for speed with a 3db noise margin, and this setting is ideal for those that use the internet to consume a lot of media, such as those that watch BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
The next setting is optimised for reliability with a 9db noise margin, and this setting caters for those that need to have the least amount of downtime and spend a lot of time online. Finally, the fourth setting is designed for gamers, and is optimises connection so that gamers can enjoy quicker responses to meet their needs.
An official from Be Broadband said: ‘As consumers become increasingly sophisticated in their internet needs, the one size fits all approach will no longer suffice. Be’s customised approach is like tuning the engine of a car to get the best performance. While the speed of your internet is still dependent upon your individual broadband connection, this new service will allow Be members to get the most out of their broadband.’
