BE slashes price of value broadband service

Broadband provider BE has kicked off the New Year by announcing that it is slashing the price of its BE Value package, enabling broadband customers to start saving money on their broadband services.

Many people will have made New Year’s resolutions that involve saving money and cutting back on outgoings, particularly given the challenging year that most of us have had when it comes to finances over the past twelve months. For those that are looking to sign up to broadband or switch to a cheaper package there is some good news from one broadband provider, which has announced that it is cutting the cost of one of its popular broadband packages.

The New Year kicked off to a good start for those that were looking for high quality, low cost broadband services as BE Broadband announced that it was slashing the price of its BE Value package. The cost of the service has been slashed from £13.50 to just £7.50, and this makes it the cheapest standalone ADSL2+ service in the UK.

The package comes with speeds of up to 8Mbps, as well as a 1.3 Mbps upload speed, a free ADSL2+ modem, and around the clock customer support. The package does come with a 40GB usage allowance, and it is this that has prompted the drop in price, after a survey of customers showed that people preferred to have a capped allowance and a lower price than pay more for unlimited downloads.

An official from BE said: “The trends we’re seeing are for no traffic management allowing more freedom and of course lower prices. Our members demand the freedom to prioritise and think for themselves, not have their broadband provider do it for them. We believe there a lot of customers that will leap at the chance to get a service that doesn’t slow down based on the content of their downloads but don’t use the internet enough to justify an unlimited product.”
