BE keeps consumers informed via blogging site
Broadband giant BE Broadband has decided to use the popular blogging site Twitter to keep its consumers up to date about usages and problems.
Many consumers will know how frustrating and annoying it can be to have their broadband service suddenly go down without any warning, and this happens all too often, where in some cases the provider was aware of the outage but the customer was blissfully unaware until the service went down. However, one broadband provider has found a way to make more of its customer aware of outages and problems.
BE Broadband has announced that it will be using the popular social networking and blogging site Twitter to advise consumers of service affecting issues and future outages so that they can be more prepared and will know when to expect their service to go down. The broadband giant has now set up a Twitter account so that it can start using the service to keep consumers informed.
An official from BE Broadband said: “We’re constantly looking for innovative new ways of communicating with our members using tools that are currently available. Twitter is perfect for sending out short messages to people that want to subscribe to them, so it was a natural fit for us to offer this service to customers.” She added: “Hopefully it should add to the numerous other channels we use to communicate with our members and should help to prevent any surprise from outages”.
With more and more people utilizing the Twitter service BE is likely to find that this is an effective way of keeping many customers informed about any forthcoming problems, and other Internet Service Providers could decide to follow suit.
