LTE delay means UK residents and businesses will suffer

Following the announcement of yet another delay with the 4G spectrum auction in the UK, officials are concerned that many residents and businesses will pay the price due to being left behind in terms of LTE access.

According to a recent report many businesses and residents in the UK could end up suffering due to delays with LTE access stemming from the latest postponement of the 4G spectrum auction. Ofcom recently announced further delays with the auction, which was due to be held at the start of next year but has now been moved to towards the middle of the year.

Many fear that the continued delays with the auction will put the UK way behind many other countries with regards to LTE access, which could affect them in many ways. LTE is thought of as a powerful technology that could provide business and casual users with access to a wide range of valuable services and platforms but due to the delays this could still be a long way off for the UK.

LTE has been described as an industry changing technology, which could have a huge positive impact on businesses, aiding productivity and giving them access to a range of valuable services. Many countries across Europe and the rest of the world have already started to enjoy the benefits of 4G networks but the UK is still left waiting and waiting as various delays and problems come to light.

Whilst businesses will suffer as a result of these delays, casual users of mobile broadband and internet will also experience difficulties, as the capacity of 3G networks becomes more and more jammed with the high demand for this technology.
