4G needs increase as Christmas gifts impact on 3g networks

With Christmas now over many delighted people will be sporting the latest smart phones, tablets, and other internet enabled devices that they have been given for Christmas – but how will this impact on the nation’s already struggling 3G networks?

Despite the financial struggles that many people have faced over the past year online and High Street sales surged this year, as consumers once again hit the shops with a vengeance to buy the latest gadgets and devices for loved ones as gifts. With so many high tech gadgets out now, most will have had no problem in finding something that would suit their loved ones perfectly.

Now that Christmas is over there will be huge numbers of people clutching the latest smart phone, tablet, or other internet enabled device, and whilst this is great news for the recipients it may not be so good for regular users of mobile broadband 3G networks.

The 3G networks in the UK are already struggling in terms of capacity, with many experiencing lower quality services, slower speeds, and more unreliable connections with these mobile broadband networks, particularly during peak times. With a new wave of people now having 3G enables devices the networks are likely to become even more congested, causing even more of a problem for those that use the networks regularly.

These problems should be eliminated when 4G broadband is rolled out, as capacity will be greatly increased, which means that the quality of service will not be compromised as a result of an increase in users. The current surge in users of 3G enabled devices has strengthened the need for 4G to be rolled out as soon as possible, but there could still be a way to go before this happens.
