According to a recent report one UK mobile broadband provider has taken measures to cater for the rising demand for mobile WiFi. The mobile communications giant 3 has announced that by the end of this year it will be making available its mobile WiFi service to meet the rising demand for this service from consumers across the UK.

The service will be known as MiFi and it will enable consumers that are already on the 3 network to get online through the use of a wireless modem, which according to reports is smaller than the average mobile phone handset. 3 has also said that connection can be achieved using multiple devices, which will prove convenient for consumers who want to get online.

According to officials from 3 users that use the MiFi service will be able to connect using devices such as laptops and phones. There will be no need for wires or a USB connection of fixed line, which means that the MiFi connection will offer the ultimate in freedom for consumers who want to be able to connect on the go.

Marc Allera, sales and marketing director of 3 UK, said: “There are millions of Wi-Fi devices out there, but they can only be used in fixed locations. Consumer demand for easy and affordable internet access on the go is growing fast – and we’re responding to that by announcing the UK’s first wireless modem.” The company also described the technology as simple adding that consumers could enjoy the ultimate in convenience with the service.
