Mobile broadband and communications giant O2 has revealed that it is dropping the connection fee that it has been charging on some of its mobile broadband and laptop bundles, enabling consumers to enjoy greater value for money.
Many people that want to sign up to mobile broadband services are keen to get a deal that includes a free laptop or netbook, and these bundles are available from the various mobile broadband providers. However, for some consumers signing up to one of these deals involves paying a connection fee, and this can make the cost of the service more expensive and less appealing.
One of the mobile providers that charged a connection fee on some of its mobile broadband with free laptop packaged was communications and broadband giant O2. However, there is some good news for consumers that want to sign up to mobile broadband packages with O2, get a free laptop and netbook, and avoid paying any connection fees to enjoy the benefits of the package.
O2 has revealed that it is getting rid of the connection fees that it charges on the free laptop deals that it previously charged connection fees on. This includes the 3GB and the 10GB mobile broadband options that come with the Asus 1005H and the Samsung R519. The laptop bundles from O2 also come with a thirty day Happiness Guarantee to ensure that customers are satisfied with the service.
One industry official stated: “Free laptop packages are great for spreading the cost of a new computer, and now that O2 has dropped its connection fee you can get an even better deal. However, O2 mobile broadband customers need to be extra careful not to exceed their download allowance as any excess data is charged at a massive 20p per MB – far more than any other provider.”
