According to a recent report the amount of money spent online by consumers in the UK is set to soar by the end of 2011, aiding the growth of the British retail sector.
Since the Internet became mainstream, and access to broadband became more affordable and more available, online shopping has become a popular pastime for consumers in the UK, with many deciding to shop online because of the ease, convenience, speed, and choice that they can enjoy, not to mention the value for money and competitive prices that are available via the Internet.

Plans that the UK government has made to try and log data about email and website usage by broadband users is ‘unworkable’ according to one group.
Many consumers have been concerned to hear about plans by the UK government to monitor and log email and website usage and access by broadband users in a bid to try and crack down on activities such as terrorism. The plans by the government involved storing details with regards to emails accessed by broadband users and websites visited by these users.

The costs that are applied by mobile providers to use either the Apple iPhone 3G or the new iPhone 3G S phone as a mobile broadband dongle can be easily circumvented with a single piece of software.
Users are currently able to change their iPhone into a wireless broadband modem with a 3GB data allowance, but in order to enable this ‘tethering’ option user are charged £14.68 by mobile provider O2.

Claims have recently been made that the recently released Digital Britain report does not do enough for businesses in the UK in its outlines for the provision of broadband services.
The promise of a minimum of 2Mbps broadband access for every business and household in the UK by 2012 was the promise that has been given in the final version of the report, which was published on 16th June.

A broadband industry expert has recently stated that the government needs to stop pushing broadband onto consumers in the UK who do not want access to this service.
For millions of people across the UK, broadband has become an important and even a vital part of everyday life, both in terms of our business lives and in terms of our personal lives. We do all sorts of things via our broadband connections, from shopping and entertainment, to work, socialising, and more. In fact, for many of us the prospect of being without broadband is not just daunting but for many people horrifying.
