About AOL Broadband

AOL seem to specialise in creating innovative broadband offers. They were one of the first suppliers to include free wireless routers in 2006 and late last year AOL introduced the first broadband packages offering a free laptop or a free Playstation 3.

All AOL's packages include a free wireless router, optional free phone calls and email with anti-virus scanning and spam filters. AOL offers free connection and 24 hour support.

Order AOL Broadband Wireless online and you'll get the first month free.

AOL Broadband Customer Reviews

  Reliable

27th October 2007 by Lizzy Benham

I moved to AOL from pipex 6 months ago and I wish I'd done sooner. Though the broadbanad speeds are not the fastest, my connection has never gone down. The one tihng that does annoy me is that an AOL window opens up every time I start my laptop and sometimes just appears randomly when I'm online, which is annoying. I've also noticed my laptop takes longer to boot up. I chose AOL becuse of the free wireless router which has been good. I was a but annoyed to see the free PS3 offer come out just after I signed up as I'd bought one for my son a few weeks early

You get what you pay for!

Customer service is poor, conneciton is poor, speeds are poor! I went for AOL broadband because they were cheap at the time. They say you get what you pay for and that's certianly the case with AOL broadband. I've just ran a speed test and I get less than half the speed I'm meant to. I'm switching to Be and will be happy to pay more if they are as good as the reviews say.

  Free Laptop :-)

11th Dec 2007 by Dave Jennings

Free laptop has been good, broadband service has been good, even the call centre was ok the one time I did have to call them despite being based outside the UK, all in all I'm happy with my choice.

AOL broadband has caused me grief from the day I signed up. Customer services put you on hold for ages and when you do get through they usually struggle to speak English. Their broadband service is shoddy to say the least, I suffer constant disconnections and really slow speeds (usually less than 1Mb). Though my contract runs out in a few weeks contract I am having problems with obtaining the MAC code, so I can switch to a better (can't imagine there can be a worse one) broadband provider. AOL has been a complete nightmare. At all costs avoid these cowboys.

Enjoy your broadband with a side serving of free laptop

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 by Richard

In the past Internet Service Providers that wanted to attract more customers often gave away freebies and special deals, such as free upgrades on broadband speeds or some free television channels for a limited period for those on bundle packages. However, it looks as though the competition is getting even… Read more
