4G WiMAX Broadband
The number of users connecting over mobile broadband devices over the last few years has risen significantly and when combined with the increase in the amount of data these devices use due to downloadable content and streaming media the urgent need for new and more advanced technologies has become clear to most mobile broadband providers. WiMAX technologies are one of the few systems that mobile network providers feel will be capable of handling the increased bandwidth usage and offer the necessary connection speed that is required.

What new benefits will 4G WiMAX internet offer users?
There will be many benefits that 4G WiMAX systems will offer users over the current 3G mobile broadband networks once it has been deployed and these will include much faster download and upload speeds and a big increase in the amount of data that users will be able to send and receive over the 4G WiMAX networks. Users will find that the greater capacity and speed of connection that WiMAX offers will provide users with an array of new facilities including the streaming of media files like music and high definition video, the use of applications and tool for business and home users over the internet, and also the downloading and uploading of files over the internet. The coverage levels that 4G WiMAX will offer once the service has been deployed will be far better than those currently obtained over the 3G networks, which is another reason mobile network providers have for upgrading as soon as possible. Many parts of the UK like the more remote and rural areas currently have very little or no coverage at all from regular fixed line broadband services and this is something that WiMAX will hopefully address by providing the coverage and speeds that are required.
The ability to do everything that fixed line broadband connections can do is not just limited to these underserved areas, however, and with 4G WiMAX mobile broadband users will be able to benefit from the huge increases in connection speeds whenever they are away from home or out of the office. Even during the initial stage of 4G WiMAX rollout most mobile broadband users will almost immediately start seeing a big improvement in the levels of coverage they are receiving and will also see a difference in their connection speeds over their mobile broadband network.
What other technologies are competing against WiMAX broadband?
The biggest rival to 4G WiMAX at the moment is 4G LTE and although these technologies are different the features and benefits these systems offer are very similar in terms of connection speeds and levels of coverage. Most network providers are currently viewing 4G LTE as the more popular technology although they have yet to decide which of the two services they will definitely be using. Deciding whether to adopt 4G WiMAX or 4G LTE technologies will be a very important decision for any network provider as it will affect which technology they build into their entire mobile broadband infrastructure.
