4G LTE Broadband
With the recent increase in the use of mobile broadband devices which has led to a massive increase in the amount of data being accessed over 3G networks many mobile broadband providers are now having to seriously consider upgrading their entire network with new technology to cope with this rise in data usage. One such technology that will provide network providers with the capacity and speeds to handle such things as streaming movies and audio or large data files is 4G LTE broadband
What will users gain from 4G LTE mobile broadband services?
When 4G LTE technology is eventually deployed it will provide users with huge benefits over the existing 3G networks which will include a far greater ability to handle the levels of data that users are able to transfer over its network as well as substantial increases in the speed at which data can be downloaded over LTE networks. The transfer of large amounts of data from user to user, a range of online applications for both home and business users and the streaming of HD, movies are just a few of the new services that will be made available once 4G LTE is rolled out. Once it has been rolled out there will also be a huge increase in the levels of coverage that LTE broadband will provide mobile broadband users. The areas that will benefit most from these new improvements in coverage and download speeds will be places where regular fixed line broadband services are limited or unavailable like the more remote and rural parts of the country.
The increase in connection speeds over 4G LTE will, however, benefit all users and will allow them to do all the things they can do over a normal fixed line broadband connection using their 4G LTE mobile broadband service. Unlike the limited levels of coverage available over the current 3G networks users will see a huge improvement in the level of coverage that 4G LTE broadband provides even it the beginning of its deployment and this is thanks to massive area of coverage that each base station will provide.
How will LTE 4G compare with other similar technologies?
The biggest competitor is the technology that is known as WiMAX, which is similar to current Wi-Fi networks but uses a more advanced Wi-Fi technology that allows for greater levels of coverage at higher speeds. Just like 4G LTE the WiMAX technology is currently being considered by many of the mobile network providers as this technology provides connection speeds, coverage levels and network capacity that is almost the same as those provided by 4G LTE services.
Although 4G LTE technology is currently the technology that most mobile network providers are favouring the final decision has yet to be made and most mobile providers will be considering exactly what they will want to offer users of their new 4G networks before deciding on which technology they will want to use as their next generation of mobile network.
